FRESH from supporting former Split Enz member Tim Finn on a run of dates throughout Queensland and NSW, iOTA is on his way back to the Steel City.

Following the release of his second album Big Grandfather, iOTA will perform at SJ's Hotel on May 9.

iOTA released Big Grandfather last year, serving up the beautifully dark styles he has become famous for topped off with his soulful vocals.

The album was a change from his debut The Hipbone Collection and iOTA views the album as his most personal work to date.

'Especially with Big Grandfather, when I went out to do interviews and stuff, some of the stuff was so personal that I didn't really want to talk about it in the interviews,' iOTA explains.

'It made it difficult but I kind of wanted people to just work it out for themselves.'

iOTA will be supported by rising soloist Charlton Hill. TE has one iOTA pack to give away, including a copy of Big Grandfather, the single Million Miles, a poster and a double pass to the gig.
