Hard Road to Success Bodyjar Putting Energy into Touring

Who: Bodyjar

For Bodyjar lead singer Cam Baines, success is all about touring heaps and working hard for your fans.

The band will pass through Newcastle tomorrow night for a show at Newcastle University's Bar on the Hill as they do just that.

After seven solo shows throughout Victoria and South Australia, the band supported fellow Australian punk band The Living End on a short tour of Japan.

'Japan is an awesome place to tour, they know all of the lyrics in English and everything,' Baines said.

'We find they pump us up as much as we do them.'

The second leg of the tour started on March 8, with a show at Wild Bills in Shortland, Victoria.

Bodyjar will then weave its way up the east coast, down to Hobart for a show at the Uni Bar before it winds up at Byron Bay's Great Northern Hotel on April 1.

It won't get much time for a rest with the first of five support gigs for American comedic punk three-piece Blink 182 in Brisbane the next day.

The band is riding high on the huge success of its singles Not The Same which came in at number 20 on Triple J's Hottest 100 and its latest release Feed It. Its latest album is How It Works, the fifth from the Melbourne outfit.
