Shoot Out Soundtracks Wanted

What: The Shoot Out CD Library
Author: Jade Lazerevic

THE final days to submit material for the Shoot Out CD library has arrived and local artists are encouraged to get in quick and be heard.

The CD library holds an extensive collection of locally produced music that can be used copyright-free by budding filmmakers on the weekend of the film festival on July 13-15.

Library coordinator Me-Shell Croker is encouraging artists to submit two CDs of original material to be included in some of the 250 films that will be produced during this year's festival.

Artists must also submit biographical information, so that filmmakers can familiarise themselves with the musicians.

Artists are paid $1 each time their tracks are used by filmmakers and a prize will be awarded for the most used song and artist.

About 40 artists were included in the library last year and each track was used at least once.

This year Soundworld will set up display bins in their three stores and sell the material of local artists who have submitted material to the festival.

For more information contact Me-Shell on 4927-6822 or 0414 478-279.
