Breaks Master Illpickl up for Jam at Nutshell Breaks

What: Nutshell Breaks
Where: The Cambridge Hotel
Author: Jade Lazerevic
When: Saturday July 7, 2001

SYDNEY-based producer and DJ Illpickl will headline the second installment of Saturday's Nutshell Breaks party at the Cambridge Hotel. Organiser Dan Matthews (DJ Auxillary) said that he was happy to announce that Nutshell had become a monthly event since the last party attracted promising crowd numbers.

'The crowd enthusiastically welcomed a new style of party and fresh new sound,' Matthews said.

Matthews said that the party focuses on the new movement of breaks orientated music, incorporating funky beats, new-school breaks, two-step and breakstep.

Matthews said that Illpickl will drop his special blend of breaks and beats at the party, which will start at 10.30pm.

Illpickl has played sets at some of the hottest venues in the world, including the dance music capital of the world, Ibiza, and in London and Sydney.

Nutshell will be the final gig for local DJ MarkN before he embarks on a tour of Europe.

Local mix wizards Kato and Auxillary will also play and guarantee to put 'a twitch in your hips and a smile on your face'.

Tickets are available pre-sale for $10 from PDMS, Abicus and the Cambridge or $15 at the door.
