Lucia for Top Night of Laughs

Who: Bruno Lucia
Where: Belmont 16ft Sailing Club
Author: Jade Lazerevic
When: Friday July 27, 2001

FRESH from touring the American comedy circuit, Bruno Lucia will stir up the laughs at Belmont 16ft Sailing Club on Friday night.

Lucia would be best known for his role in the hit Australian comedy All Together Now where he played the infamous Wayne 'Chicky Babe' Lovett.

He spent four years in the sitcom, which has now been sold to Spain, Germany, the UK and the US.

Since the completion of the series, Lucia has been performing across Australia and the US, headlining and compering at premier venues.

He has recently returned from his third US comedy club round where he performed at the LA Comedy Store, famous for starring some of the world's best comics.

While Lucia says comedy is his true love, he was also an accomplished rock musician for 10 years.

When asked why he chose comedy over a career in rock, Lucia says, 'I didn't have the hair for it.'

This talent enables him to compose his own musical pieces as well as writing his comedy scripts.

He has guest starred in programs such as A Country Practice and Rafferty's Rules and appeared in the films The Light Horseman and Sweet Talker. The show is free in the Lakeview Lounge from 9pm.
