King of pop set for Northern Star after successful tour of Europe

THE Australian King of Pop will grace the stage at the Northern Star Hotel when the Dave Graney Show perform at the hotel on Friday night.

Since returning from a two-month tour of the UK and Europe the group has decided to play a series of dates in NSW.

Dave Graney, bass player Adele Pickvance and drummer Clare Moore will be the only members of the group to go on the road during the upcoming tour.

As a five-piece group, they travelled through Europe and opened shows for Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds in Vienna, Manchester, Berlin and Dublin.

They also had the chance to perform their own gigs and performed in London, Hamburg and Geneva.

Fans not only have the new tour to look froward to, they can also expect to see the release of a follow up to their 2000 album Kiss Tomorrow Goodbye. The album is titled Heroic Blues and is said to have a more 'organic' sound than the groups previous two releases.

All of the tracks were built up from an acoustic guitar by Graney. The tracks include Anchors Way, Son of Maggie May, Don't Mess With The Blood and Clingin' To the Coast. Clare Moore has also been busy working on her solo CD titled The Third Woman.
