Bomb Set to Go off as New Dance Spot

What: The Bomb
Where: Skateline
Author: Jade Lazerevic
When: Friday July 13, 2001

AN explosion of dancers, music and giveaways will hit Newcastle Skateline on Friday night.

The Bomb is the latest addition to Newcastle's growing number of under-18s venues and has been developed by Dean Eggins. Eggins believes that the venue is perfect.

'Skateline is the perfect venue for these dance parties as it is equipped to handle a large capacity,' Eggins said.

'It also has the latest lighting effects and by utilising the open skate rink as a dance floor, there is plenty of room to move.'

Eggins promises lots of entertainment throughout the night including giveaways, large video screens, break-dancing competitions and Knights star Darren Albert as a guest DJ.

'I'll be playing a wide variety of music, including requests,' he said.

Eggins has featured prominently throughout Newcastle's nightclubs for the past 10 years and now owns Elite DJ Services. Pre-sale tickets are available at Skateline or at the door on Friday for $7.

The Bomb is open from 7pm to 11pm.

Dean plans to create theme nights in the future such as pyjama parties and feature more guest DJs and dancers.
