Who: Lou Bennett, Tonchi
What: Voiving it Up Tour
Where: The Star Hotel
When: Thursday January 11, 2001

Former TIDDAS member turned solo artist LOU BENNETT will perform with film maker and musician RICHARD FRANKLAND at the Northern Star Hotel tomorrow night.

Newcastle singer songwriter TONCHI, fresh from a tour of western NSW with KEV CARMODY, will support the pair who are touring under the banner of the VOICING IT UP tour.

Bennett and Frankland first met 10 years ago in one of Richard's bands DJAAMBI which is also where the trio of Tiddas first met.

Since the disbanding of Tiddas, Bennett has worked hard to establish herself as a solo artist, touring nationally with JEWEL and SWEET HONEY IN THE ROCK. Bennett has released a CD called IMAGINE BEING YOU and will perform material from her forthcoming debut solo album tomorrow night.

Frankland will perform songs from his own CD DINGO'S BREKKY, recorded with Melbourne group THE SENATE. The film maker's short film HARRY'S WAR, which was inducted into the BLACK FILM MAKERS HALL OF FAME in the United States, will also be screened.
