THE profile of Sydney's LOUISVILLE SLUGGERS was boosted last year when the fast-rockin' swingers scored a short-lived stint as the house band on Nine's SAM & THE FAT MAN. Tomorrow night, at the Shoal Bay Country Club, the 'Sluggers' will perform songs from its latest CD HEY HONEY PLEASE for the Hunter's hard-edge music lovers.
The Country Club show is the second in a four-date residency during January, which continues on Sunday, January 21, and Thursday, January 25.
On Saturday, January 20, the group will perform its only Newcastle show at Hotel CBD.
The Sluggers mix swing with punk rock to attain a sound that's in the same ball park as the United States' CHERRY POPPIN' DADDIES. Fronted by MISS VELVET VASS, the Sluggers' latest CD includes a sultry love song WELL SWUNG and a down-and-dirty torch song about a Las Vegas stripper called DELORES THE UNSTOPPABLE. TE
