INDIE guitar band and Triple J Radio regulars Pretty Violet Stain are on their way Newcastle.

They will support US headline act The Dandy Warhols on their Australian tour.

Also playing will be the outstanding Melbourne three-piece, Even. These three great bands will play at Club Nova Newcastle on May 4.

Pretty Violet Stain were unearthed by Triple J on the Sunshine Coast in 1997 under the name Freak. Soon after this win they changed their name.

The band thrive on their live shows and have landed supports for international bands such as Fuel. They are regularly in popular company packing out venues such as The Metro in Sydney with bands such as Lo-Tel, The Doves, The Titanics and Magic Dirt. The four-piece provided ideal support for Alex Lloyd on his popular My Way Home tour.

Pretty Violet Stain have been described as a cross between the defunct Crowded House and Ben Folds Five.
