Punk lads to headline 2000 Wollombi Festival

Who: The Australian Beef Week Show, Operation Lager
Where: Northern Star Hotel
When: Saturday September 16, 2000

COUNTRY punk-ins THE AUSTRALIAN BEEF WEEK SHOW will be in their element this weekend at the WOLLOMBI FESTIVAL , 'a celebration of culture' that combines blues, folk, comedy and bush hats!

Beef Week will perform at the Wollombi Festival late on Friday evening and early in the evening on Saturday.

The fun-loving, beer-drinking lads will head back into Newcastle for a late show on Saturday night at the Northern Star Hotel with Central Coast ska band OPERATION LAGER. The video to A RUSSIAN LUNCH AFFAIR, from the debut Beef Week CD of the same name, was recently screened on ABC Television's all-night music program RAGE. Starting tonight, the Wollombi Festival will run until Sunday.

Highlights from the program can be found in this week's TE gig guide.

Other Wollombi Festival Highlights include Newcastle singer-songwriter TONCHI, Hunter comedians ALAN GLOVER and JASON STARRETT and a raft of blues and folk bands.
