When: Friday October 20, 2000

FRESH from rubbing shoulders with the glitterati at the Sydney 2000 Olympics, Newcastle band LITTLE HORNET will return to the Hunter on Friday night for a show at Maitland's Clubhouse Hotel.

Lead singer TYRONE PENSHORN said the group performed six shows during the Olympics at THE ESTABLISHMENT nightclub, where the members were photographed with boxer EVANDER HOLYFIELD. Aussie singer KYLIE MINOGUE was also within earshot of Little Hornet during one performance, and star sprinter CARL LEWIS was also spotted in the vicinity of the stage.

The group has been quiet until recently for most of 2000, working in a new drummer DANE BALDWIN to join bass player DEAN KYRWOOD and guitarist RUPERT JENNER. Little Hornet is working on some new material for a new CD release in 2001.
