Who: Merrick and Rosso
Where: Hunter Street Mall
When: Monday June 5, 2000

AUSTRALIA'S unofficial ministers for THE DEPARTMENT OF YOUTH, TRIPLE J broadcasters MERRICK WATTS and TIM ROSS, will be in the Hunter St Mall on Monday, June 5. The outside broadcast will be the first port of call in a week-long East Coast tour taking in Armidale, Byron Bay, Toowoomba and Brisbane. According to Triple J national marketing manager NICOLE SALISBURY the MERRICK & ROSSO LOVE BUS TOUR will kick off at 3pm and feature appearances from regular guests such as 'Gary and Gavin', CRAIG 'Kambo's World of Rock' KAMBER, and STEPHEN 'THE SANDMAN' ABBOTT. As-yet-unnamed 'special guests' are also tipped to appear.

OUTDOOR FUN: SUNDAYS at the WETLANDS CENTRE at Shortland is a glorious way to warm up during these chilly winter months. This weekend soloist KEVIN O'HARA will be on hand to serenade you in the sun, surrounded by birds and nature, with his crowd-pleasing variety of classics and current hits. O'Hara will play from noon until 2pm.

DOGBITE'S BACK: IT'S official. Maitland City Council's successful DOGBITE music festival will go ahead this year. The three-year-old, youth-oriented music festival will be held on Saturday, October 14, as part of a broader MAITLAND MUSIC AND ART FAIR 2000. 'The cream of Australia's rock bands' will perform at a new venue, Maitland Sports Ground, close to the council's skate park. In an effort to broaden the event's appeal a nearby entertainment precinct will offer other forms of entertainment at Maitland City Hall (jazz/world/classical music) and the Maitland Youth Enterprise building (dance/rave).
