It's Long Enough, it's Straight Enough ... it's The Nevilles

Who: The Nevilles
Where: Northern Star Hotel
When: Thursday June 29, 2000

YOU'LL see them on tomorrow night's episode of THE FOOTY SHOW, but this Friday night FATTY and STERLO'S famous backing group THE NEVILLES will be performing at The Clubhouse Hotel, Maitland. They play fair dinkum, straight up the middle, rock'n'roll, just like you like it. The Nevilles line up is JAY SMITH on lead vocals, MARK MARRIOT on drums, DARIO BARTOLIN on bass, BRAD JOHNS on lead guitar and PHIL GROVE on keyboards. In the past Marriot has run onto the paddock with JIMMY BARNES, RICHARD CLAPTON, GINA JEFFREYS and LEE KERNAGHAN. At various stages Bartolin has sat on the interchange bench for KEVIN BORICH and DRAGON. JAZZ MASTER: HE'S performed on four continents including Europe, Africa, Asia and Australia and at festivals and clubs in Bombay, Milan, New Delhi and Johannesburg. His name is GUY STRAZZULLO, and tomorrow night his trio, including PHILLIP SCORGIE on bass and GORDON RYTMEISTER on drums, will perform at the Northern Star Hotel. Strazullo, who plays acoustic and electric guitar, is a composer who was awarded the 2000 APRA Music Award for jazz. In 1999 he was nominated for his Hindu-Brazilian composition CREOLOGY. CHILD BRIDES: FLOYD VINCENT & THE CHILDBRIDES will perform at the Northern Star Hotel this Friday night. The band has been in songwriting mode for the past few months, preparing the follow up to LAST EXIT MOTEL. Vincent has also been writing with TJ EKLEBURG and ARIA-winning country artist SHANLEY DEL. Albums are also on the way for Childbrides BILL JACOBI (METHOD) and drummer JOE ACCARIA. THE SHAKERS: AUSTRALIA'S LOUISIANA SHAKERS, playing tomorrow night at the Northern Star Hotel, perform authentic and definitive New Orleans jazz. The Australian festival circuit regulars have also toured twice throughout Europe and England. Forming in 1994, the group models itself after the 'down home' style of the great bands and musicians of the 1940s such as BUNK JOHNSON and GEORGE LEWIS. The Shakers lineup is BOB REID on trumpet and vocals, CHARLIE POWELL on trombone and vocals, NICK POLITES on clarinet, ASHLEY KEATING on tenor banjo, ANDY ROSS on bass and KEVIN BOLTON on drums.
