Whackers Heading West for Music Gold

Who: The Bushwackers
Where: Western Suburbs Leagues Club
When: Friday September 1, 2000

COUNTRY music institution THE BUSHWACKERS are just one of many fine acts booked to play at Wests Leagues Club over the next couple of months.

On Friday, August 25, MARCIA HINES will perform at the club before The Bushwackers take to the stage with its first female member MELANIE WILLIAMSON, (pictured) on Friday, September 1.

The Bushwackers, who have won countless GOLDEN GUITARS, MO AWARDS, and have released more than 10 albums, have been performing together for the past 28 years.

Later in September evergreen pop star DARYL BRAITHWAITE is tipped to appear at Wests, but no date has yet been announced.

ROCK CITY EVENT MARKETING advises that no tickets for these shows have been released for sale, but TE will publish dates and ticket details as they come to hand.

TRIVIA NIGHT: PARENTS and friends of the Gateshead West Public School are holding a trivia night this Saturday, July 29, at Windale Gateshead Bowling Club, to raise money for school equipment. Tickets are $10 a head and table numbers are limited. Inquiries phone 4943-1670 or 4943-1734.

FREE COMEDY: COMEDIAN DAVE ALLENBY and impressionist PETER DEAN will perform at THE VERY BEST OF BRITISH comedy show at Belmont 16 Footers, on Wednesday, August 2. The club promises that the free morning concert, beginning at 11am, will be 'a morning of side splitting comedy'. Both comics were born in the UK. Allenby's claim to fame is an appearance in the motion picture THOSE MAGNIFICENT MEN IN THEIR FLYING MACHINES, while Dean performs vocal impressions of RAY CHARLES, JOE COCKER and SIR LES PATTERSON.
