Guitar Slingin' Man Gives Fancy Nancy a Harder Edge

Who: Fancy Nancy
Where: Fanny's
When: Saturday December 23, 2000

Popular covers band FANCY NANCY has been cruising together for five years.

But about 12 months ago, the group, playing Saturday night at Fannys and Sunday at the Beach Hotel, added a new guitarist.

When former SLOTS guitar slinger NICK RASCHKE stepped into the fray, the band's set list took on a decidedly harder edge.

But lead singer SHARON KNIGHT insists there is still plenty of the old Fancy Nancy to satisfy the group's core fan base.

'We're still trying to do more dance stuff,' she said.

With drummer PETER LIDDIARD, bass player ROB BELL and keyboard player BRADEN WILKINSON, the band plays everything from SKUNK ANANSIE and THE STONES to NANCY SINATRA and REPUBLICA.
