Knox at Door of Country Music

Who: Euraba Band
Where: Lass O' Gowrie
When: Friday August 11, 2000

WHILE black Americans turned to the blues to express their stories, Australia's Aboriginal people were drawn to country and western, which they made a special music all of its own.

One such performer is ROGER KNOX, playing with his EURABA BAND this Friday night at the Lass O'Gowrie, Saturday night at Maitland's Grand Junction Hotel, and Sunday afternoon, 4pm-6pm, at the Karuah Hotel.

Knox is one of the featured artists in a recent documentary BURIED COUNTRY, which screened on SBS in June, and which is now the subject of a book, double CD and video.

(Copies are available via http://www.buriedcountry.com or by phoning (02) 9519-3299).

Maitland country rock identity JOHNNY GREEN of THE BLUES COWBOYS has arranged the three dates for Knox, who cut his first album with Blues Cowboy ED MATZENIK. Another Hunter artist, Shortland singer AURIEL ANDREWS featured in Buried Country, will perform with Knox at Hunter shows.

TE and PLUTO PRESS have a BURIED COUNTRY video, worth $35, and book, worth $39, to give away.

To go in the draw, mail an envelope, with your name, address and telephone number on the back, to BURIED COUNTRY GIVEAWAY, PO Box 615, Newcastle, 2300.
