An Irish Touch Dominates at Rebuilt Harrigan's

Who: The Dreamcatchers
Where: Harrigan's
When: Saturday August 12, 2000

A FORMER motel at Tallawanta Resort been 'gutted and rebuilt' into a totally transformed 'traditional' Irish pub which is now trading as HARRIGAN'S AT POKOLBIN. Designed by THE IRISH PUB COMPANY, and owned by HUNTER VALLEY GARDENS, the renovations at Harrigan's include the installation of:

- wrought-iron fittings;

- skylights;

- oak timber;

- exposed brick;

- imported seating.

Irish painters and decorators spent eight weeks painting maps of Ireland on the walls and ceilings.

Other refurbishments carried out since January have resulted in an increase in the number of rooms at Harrigan's from 22 to 47.

Hotel manager WILLIE CREEDON, who hails from Ireland, said the final stage of refurbishments would include an outdoor terrace eating area with seating for 150.

The completed terrace will compliment Harrigan's restaurant which offers char-grilled self-prepared meals, a la carte nouvelle cuisine, and wood-fired pizza 'all with an Irish flavour'.

Live entertainment has been introduced at the hotel, which this week features SUE CARSON on Friday night, and THE DREAMCATCHERS on Saturday night. TE
