Young Dancers Stay Step Ahead

THE INTERNATIONAL FOLK DANCE ENSEMBLE from Brigham Young University, Utah, will perform for Hunter school students at the Newcastle Civic Theatre on Friday from 10am.

The performance, presented by the CHURCH OF JESUS CHRIST OF THE LATTER DAY SAINTS, will raise funds for the John Hunter Children's Hospital.

'This group of fresh faced young performers kept the stage alive through the evening,' the KELOWNA CAPITAL NEWS wrote when the ensemble performed in Canada.

'The highlight was the finale, a Ukrainian dance with all the stops pulled out.'

More than 40 musicians, singers and dancers will perform a program of dances from Mexico, eastern and western Europe, the Middle East and Asia, as well as a fast-paced American repertoire.
