WESTERN Australian musician, teacher, composer and instrument builder MIKE BURNS will perform for folk music afficionados of the NEWCASTLE FOLK CLUB this weekend.

The performance at the Senior Citizens Hall, William St, Hamilton, on Saturday at 8pm, will range from traditional and modern, Irish and Scottish tunes, to original compositions and improvisational elements.

The MIKE BURNS & FRIENDS trio will feature original and traditional guitar, as well as mandolin and Celtic harp from CHRYS KING, with tin whistle and accordion from Hunter musician JOHN BURNS. Tickets are $10, $8 concession and $6 for members. TE
