Killkenny's Hot Celtic

Who: Killkenny
Where: Nag's Head Hotel
When: Saturday April 29, 2000

OH my God, it's KILLKENNY! This Saturday night at the Nag's Head and Sunday night at the Great Northern, Killkenny will perform traditional Celtic tunes, and some contemporary Celtic rock numbers.

They will not perform the theme from SOUTHPARK, despite the fact that the spelling of their name at least is partly derived from the show.

Killkenny is SUE CARSON, MICK STOVE and PETER SCHILLERT and JASON GALE. With Carson on lead vocals and fiddle, the quartet is able to perform songs by CHARLIE DANIELS BAND, WEDDINGS PARTIES ANYTHING and THE CORRS. There's also a fair dose of music from two of the world's top existing Celtic rock bands, THE LEVELLERS and WOLFSTONE. As ever the classically-trained Carson will amaze you with her vocal delivery of KATE BUSH. Other bands Killkenny covers include BIG COUNTRY, SILVERCHAIR, SLADE, THE POGUES and MICHELLE SHOCKED. Tonight at the Great Northern the hotel has DANIEL ARVIDSON in the front bar. Keep watching the gig guide for more entertainment at the hotel on a weekly basis. TE
