Music from a True Storyteller

Who: Karen Burton
Where: Wesley Senior Citizens Hall
When: Saturday May 15, 1999

THE music of folk performer KAREN BURTON has been described as sounding like a cross between SIMON & GARFUNKEL and SUZANNE VEGA. Burton will perform on Saturday night for the NEWCASTLE & HUNTER FOLK CLUB, at Wesley Hall, William St, Hamilton, from 7.30pm.

The English 'musical storyteller' has a CD A POINT ON THE MAP out through LOCRIAN RECORDS (www.locrian.com.au).

Burton critics praise her music for its simplicity and honesty, harking back to the music of the early 1960s 'before the turgid navel gazing introspections of 1970s hippiedom took over'.

Entry is $12 or $10 for members at the door. =4957-0830. TE
