Farewell Performance

Who: Daniel Arvidson
Where: Prince Of Wales
When: Wednesday March 31, 1999

SOLOIST DANIEL ARVIDSON will play his final shows in Newcastle tonight at the Prince of Wales Hotel, and tomorrow night at the Nag's Head Hotel, before jetting off to Italy on Saturday.

Arvidson has found work in Florence, at THE RED GARTER resort which caters to Australian, New Zealand, South African and North American tourists.

The singer songwriter hopes the experience will recharge his batteries and renew his enthusiasm for songwriting which had been extinguished since working as a musician for the past 10 years in Newcastle.

'I need to experience new places and write about new things,' Arvidson said.

The singer songwriter says he may follow the entertainment trail through Europe after his six-month stint in Italy and will most likely take up residence in Byron Bay 'if' he ever returns to Australia.

'I won't be coming back to Newcastle,' Arvidson said. The musician said he just felt creatively 'stagnant' in Newcastle which was not very receptive to original music.

Arvidson looks forward to being in Florence, renowned for its art and architecture, as well as its 'pasta and beautiful women'. TE
