Band Stays on its Toes

Who: Peepshow
Where: Northern Star Hotel
When: Thursday July 15, 1999

SYDNEY band PEEPSHOW has not been resting on its laurels since releasing its TIM FREEDMAN-produced debut CD ELECTRO FERTILITY STOMP late last year.

The band has taken to the road for two North Coast tours including Newcastle, Wollongong, Canberra and Melbourne, where it has gathered some valuable airplay.

Playing tomorrow night at the Northern Star Hotel the band has been writing during its travels, both musically and in amusing press releases.

'This sees the band depart from the moody mellifluous melodrama of ELECTRO FERTILITY STOMP and slip into fourth for the funko rollercoaster that's convulsing and teetering, sparks flying, on the rusty corroded tracks of the Sydney musical scenery,' it writes.

The rigours of road life it seems has not taken its toll on the band's sense of humour.

'Cramped weathered fingers from endless hours behind the wheel of a Tarago, driving hundreds of kilometres to play for 40 minutes to four people, three of them work behind the bar, and on closer inspection the fourth is a plastic guide dog,' the band writes, God bless 'em.

'We slip 20 into his head, give him a pat, and think it's been a long six months.' TE
