Carn, Giss a Big Pash

Who: Kate Ceberano

THERE'S something uniquely Aussie about the word 'pash' that inspired homegrown diva KATE CEBERANO to use it in a song about 'French kissing' last year.

PASH is a standout track from recent years on her TRUE ROMANTIC compilation.

Kate spoke to TE on her visit to Newcastle to perform at JOHN FARNHAM's '50th birthday bash'. She expects to return to Newcastle in August or September.

'I was working with an American producer who was chuffed by all the colloquial terms I kept coming out with like you bloody ripper" and don't give a rat's arse",' Kate said. 'He'd say it sounds English but I don't understand".'

TE has five copies of TRUE ROMANTIC to give away. Mail an envelope, with your name, address and telephone number on the back to GIMME SOME OF KATE CEBERANO GIVEAWAY, PO Box 200, Newcastle 2300. Enter online at www.nnp.com.au TE
