The Return of Kevin

Who: Kevin O'Hara
Where: Mary Ellen Hotel
When: Saturday January 30, 1999

KEVIN O'HARA has been an absent friend from the Newcastle music scene for more than decade.

Leaving his home town for the lures of travel, O'Hara established himself as a musician and performer of note in Europe, and was recognised for his work with MARGUERITE and THE KOOKA BROS and local GREG BRYCE in TOE JAMMERS. Having used his experience to carve a career recording and playing in London and Europe, O'Hara's diversity as a performer was showcased in his original outfit Big Red, with which he toured and recorded three albums.

Later occupied with Spartzen Express, he has a solid background in music to say the least.

Returning to Newcastle, his performance as a soloist has won him notoriety for his knack of drawing in his audience. O'Hara's intense guitar style and entertaining sense of humour has had a universal appeal.

From the classics to current, playing honest acoustic guitar or with the support of a fully sequenced backing, O'Hara performs at the Crazy Cow cafe, SJ'S Hotel, on Friday, at the Mary Ellen Hotel on Saturday, and Tea Gardens RSL on Sunday.TE
