Radio Duo set to Debunk Party Hype

What: NX-FM Garth and Steve Non-Event
Where: Fanny's
When: Friday December 3, 1999

NEWCASTLE'S zaniest breakfast DJs GARTH & STEVE are pre-empting a New Year's Eve fizzer by holding their own party this Friday night at Fannys.

The NX-FM GARTH & STEVE NON-EVENT will be 'the biggest non-event since the 1997 Newcastle Bicentenary' quips DJ STEVE CLARKE. The duo's other half, GARTH RUSSELL, says the party aims to debunk some of the hype surrounding this year's millennium party by getting in early.

But Russell holds hope that the party will not live up to its name.

'Don't be fooled by the name,' he said. 'After this party there will no Christmas and no New Year's Eve - people will be puffed out.'

Joining Garth and Steve on stage at the invitation-only event between 7pm and 10pm (tickets are being given away on-air) will be SMUDGE with a set of stand-up comedy.

Live entertainment will be LITTLE HORNET with two sets and 'Newcastle's own HUMAN NATURE', a cappella group BODY & SOUL. Garth and Steve will be 'crapping on', conducting CD giveaways and 'silly games' including a live BATTLE OF THE SEXES. Fannys will be open to the public after 10pm.

TE has a double VIP pass to the NX-FM GARTH & STEVE NON-EVENT to give away.

To go in the draw mail an envelope, with your name, address and telephone number on the back, to the GARTH & STEVE GIVEAWAY, PO Box 615, Newcastle, 2300.
