New Oblong Shape

Who: Oblong, The Marones
Where: Grand Hotel
When: Friday October 9, 1998

ORIGINAL heavy rock and OBLONG has taken a step towards a different sound, adapting keyboards to go with guitars, bass and drums.

Playing one set only this Friday night at the Grand Hotel, they will support RAMONES tribute band THE MARONES for its annual reunion concert.

Drummer TODD BURNLEY said the effect of the keyboard addition was a bit like FAITH NO MORE but without the funk elements.

Other members of Oblong are ADAM DIVER on guitar and keyboards, ANDREW COPPARD on guitars and keyboards and TONY DRAYTON on bass guitar.

If the band is playing only one set at a venue it is all original, but at venues where it plays three sets it throws in covers by KYUSS, THE TEA PARTY, FOO FIGHTERS and THE BEATLES and SPLIT ENZ. TE
