APPEALING to clubbers who like to dance, Hunter duo SHAKE DOWN has been working for the past 12 months on a set list which draws from top 40 and classic rock of the past 30 years.

Guitarist and lead vocalist SHIRLEY ALVES and keyboard player and vocalist DAVE PARKER play upbeat, danceable rock and pop.

Playing on Friday night at the Newcastle Workers Club, Shakedown were formed around Christmas last year and boast about 80 songs in their repertoire.

As well as songs by BACHELOR GIRL and NO DOUBT, the duo performs danceable material by STEVIE WONDER, DONNA SUMMER, BILLY OCEAN and ACE OF BASE. Shakedown also rocks out with songs by STATUS QUO and THE ROLLING STONES. TE
