GO-GO dancers, a bubble machine and psychedelic oil slide-lighting are just some of the elements set to trigger a flashback to the psychedelic era on Saturday night at The Cambridge Hotel.

Newcastle organiser of THE LEOPARD SKIN LOUNGE, DJ BENJAMIN GILMOUR says the GROOVE-A-DELIC dance party will be a fortnightly event.

Music from the late 1960s and early 1970s will be used to recreate a similar concept operating in Sydney at the SOUNDS OF SEDUCTION venue.

Gilmour, and partners BEN ANDERSON and YASMIN MOUSTAFIS, are hoping people will get into the mood of the night by donning clothes a-la-AUSTEN POWERS. Recycled clothing shop THE DAISY CHAIN, which provided the trio's funky threads, will also hold a fashion parade on the night which pumps from 9pm until late.TE
