Pre-Shrunk Funk Formed by Fresh Mesh

Who: Pre Shrunk
Where: Swansea Workers Club
When: Sunday November 22, 1998

PRE-SHRUNK are a Melbourne-based rock band with a difference - the trio has two bass players, a drummer and no guitarist.

Fans can't get enough of the highly original fusion of funked-out rock, brain-crushing bottom end and brutal humour.

Pre-Shrunk will perform this Sunday for THE JAM FACTORY all-ages venue at the Swansea Workers Club, and tomorrow night at SJ's Hotel.

Former Newcastle bass player DAVE MORRIS (pictured left) explained the obvious question: why no guitar?

'We really couldn't hear much space in the line-up for anything else to go on,' he said.

Morris, a member of Newcastle funk group HOUSEQUAKE 10 years ago, explained that co-bass player DAVAGE THOMAS (pictured centre) came from a punk background, which resulted in a 'melding of styles'.

So far the band's debut independent CD SUDDEN BLINDING CERTAINTY has earned it a spot on ABC TELEVISION'S RECOVERY and TRIPLE J'S LIVE AT THE WIRELESS, as well as berths at several key festivals this summer.

For a chance to win one of two copies of the CD we have to give away, send an envelope, with your name, address and telephone number on the back, to PRE-SHRUNK GIVEAWAY, PO Box 200, Newcastle, 2300. TE
